Design Practice

The built environment contributes 42% to annual global greenhouse gas emissions.1 At OLIN, we understand that we can directly influence the impacts and emissions of our designed landscapes. We continue to adopt and learn from numerous resources that have been developed in recent years to assist practitioners in understanding the climate impacts of our work, and to better plan for decarbonization during planning and design phases. These tools and resources continue to evolve. Several resources were released from ASLA in 2024, and Pathfinder released an updated version that included considerations for Biodiversity, Equity, and more. We will continue to utilize existing tools and research and contribute to thought leadership to collectively understand and improve the environmental performance of our industry.
