Pride Month at OLIN
This June ‘22, as part of People Lab’s PrideScapes Initiative, our Philadelphia and Los Angeles studios were busy celebrating and uplifting the LGBTQ+ community by advocating for increased visibility and connections across the LGBTQ+ design community. We kicked off Pride by exploring and sketching Philadelphia’s Gayborhood and significant queer sites in Los Angeles. OLIN then held a studio-wide workshop as a “primer” for introducing and discussing critical LGBTQ+ issues as allies and community members. In mid-June, we were honored to have Public City Architecture present their project ‘Thunderhead’, selected as the new LGBTQ2+ National Monument in Canada. To wrap-up the month, OLIN and PA-DE ASLA hosted a Pride happy hour at Cockatoo for LGBTQ+ professionals in the built environment. We were thrilled to connect with 80 attendees, and enjoyed celebrating Pride, starting more conversations, and building community within our fields!
