OLIN Labs Presents at Stormwater Symposium

The Soilless Soil Initiative was one of several novel approaches to sustainable stormwater management presented at the 2022 Stormwater Symposium at Villanova University. OLIN Labs coordinator Rebecca Popowsky, a member of the Soilless Soil research team, overviewed the team’s ongoing work to recycle waste glass into engineered soils for green stormwater infrastructure. She presented the team’s findings on the performance of glass-based soil (GBS), and discussed how the project aims to increase recycling by developing collaborations between nonprofit, municipal government, recycling industry, and academic partners.
